I’ve been a student of Choices Charter School since 7th grade when I enrolled back in early 2008 I was reading at a 3rd level and with the help of my wonderful Mother Tammy and Teacher’s Mrs.O’brien, Mrs.Strauch, Mrs.Cermak, Mr.Rakela, Mrs.Antos, Mrs.Cave & Mrs.Song, I was reading at a 12th-grade level by the end of the 9th grade these people stuck by me every step of the way and always made feel like I was amongst friends and always gave me the confidence to get through anything within my Education and the drive to accomplish anything and Live To Win!
It’s a really good school. I’ve gone here going on 3 years now. The teachers are very nice and it’s just a great school environment to be in.
Teachers and staff are wonderful. They keep close contact with students and parents to make sure the student gets his/her assignments done. Computer access/program makes it easy for the parents (and students) to see upcoming assignments, grades and time the student has actually been online completing assignments. Great school!
While not a parent of a student (just an aunt) I was moved to write this review because this small staff has raised a large sum in scholarships to provide to their students. The staff is clearly bonded to the kids and it was touching. This year 8 kids rec’d scholarships including the munchkin I was supporting today. It’s quite a phenomenal feat to raise these funds and this act shows a genuine commitment to their students. Thank you Charter Choices for your commitment to the children.
I can not even put in to words how Thankful I am for this school. My son is a Senior there and had we not made the switch when he was a sophomore he would not be graduating. The staff has always been very accommodating. Thank God for Choices.
This school has absolutely been the best choice for our son! The staff is amazing and they know your child by their name & truly care about the students! They don’t get passed by like they do in a bigger schools.
I love the personal relationships I am able to form at my school. Having such a small student body allows me to form close relationships with my teachers, I feel that I can ask them any questions I may have about the school’s policies. As a whole, I know and respect the school’s policies. I believe them to be fair and to always benefit the student.
Choices Charter School, Helped me out a lot, I’m about to go to high school, after this school year, And I started in 7th grade, due to a lot of fighting with other students. Since I started choices, I haven’t gotten in any fights, and my social anxiety is getting better. It’s a great school.
I liked how the teachers in San Jan Choices Charter School always give attention to each student, wanting to know better individually. Different from my experience in public school, Choices encourages you to have goals for the future such as going to college or to a university and to find a specific major you would want to really get into. And what I think that Choices Charter School should do to make itself better is to put up more electives, classes, and sports.
My oldest son has been at CCS since 7th grade (4 years total) and overall I love this school. Most of the teachers are excellent and really care about the students, not just on an academic level but the whole person, their goals, their strengths and weaknesses… and they work hard to help them in any way they can. Its a great balance between public school and home school. Our 2nd son will begin his journey at CCS next year and we are excited!
Choices is a great school with amazing and caring staff.
The teachers and staff are amazing. I praise them all for the work they do for all children. My daughters’ grades have excelled since she started going to school here. Her attitude towards teachers and school overall has changed for the good. She speaks of her teachers with so much respect. I am so glad I put her in Choices. Thank you Choices Staff for all your hard work. I am one proud mommy.

Excellent school, the teachers really care and try to help out. Also it doesn’t feel like you’re missing out on things like at a public school, and I’ve made great friends.
We are so glad our boys are attending this school. The staff is so caring, the student body is also very good — no bullying issues. The blended learning environment is perfect for kids who don’t do well in an overcrowded class environment. They have made many friends here.
It has been the best experience for my son who is in 8th grade and for myself, the parent. The staff and teachers are caring. It is a very safe environment with no bullying. A fantastic transition from homeschooling to school.

I went to choices charter school. I would not have graduated if it wasn’t for these amazing teachers and staff. I’m forever thankful for all of them.
I have been attending here since 8th grade and I am a senior this yearđ. Students are very friendly and accept anybody and everybody for who they are.
I have two teenage sons that attended Choices. They both enjoyed the classes and teachers. I appreciated the teachers because they showed they cared about my sons’ education. The teachers’ attitude encouraged them to complete their assignments, and reach out for more. The level of parent involvement is great. The teachers contact you when your child needs help, they don’t wait until it is too late. The counselors are also great. They help the students plan their future and head them in the right direction for the career of their choice.
This really is an amazing school!!! It’s so diverse and can adapt to your needs. It really helped me when I needed it most. The staff and students are wonderful and accepting. There are no problems fitting in, and you never feel as if you are being judged.
This really is an outstanding school. It allows you to work at your own pace, and it offers valuable and interesting courses which many schools do not. My daughter has excelled in her work since I’ve taken her out of her previous school where she had trouble keeping up her grades and staying on track. She is now enrolled in advanced classes and more focused on school than ever. Most importantly, she loves her school and she is happy. I highly recommend this school.
I have been able to save money by working two jobs this year, for going to this school gives me the time I need to focus on school and other priorities, while still receiving just as high of an education as I would have if I still went to another San Juan School. I have really been able to become more independent this year and less stressed about school and dreaded teachers. The teachers here care about our futures and that is truly rare.
I graduated from Choices Charter School in 2005! I can truly say that if I did not find out about this school I would not have graduated! I was a full time student and was able to work full time. My teacher Mrs. O’Brian was the best! It is the best charter school!
Choice Charter is new to us and so far I am very satisfied with their curriculum. I receive emails as well as phone calls to keep me up to date so I am clued in on all aspects of my child’s studies and current grade.
This school is amazing. The principal, teachers, and staff really go the extra mile for the children. I’ve never seen such an involved, caring staff in any school that any of my children have ever attended. My son was able to receive one-on-one instruction, which was crucial at that point in his life. I am so thankful that I found this school. It allowed my son to flourish and gain confidence. I am forever indebted to the staff at Choices.
This school is excellent. My son has been going here for the last 2-1/2 years, 7th, 8th and 9th grades. The teachers and staff are very attentive to their students. They also have special education instructors and tutors available if your child needs extra help.Â
